Jamie Donaldson happy to wait the birth of her first child with her partner Kat, and try to be in for his first European Tour event, things have improved steadily over recent years and says he has to improve on what is doing and he said that the victories will come.

Pontypridd-born Donaldson ended 2011 as Wales’ top professional golfer after amassing £637,317 on Tour for a career-high 38th place on the European money list and 86th spot in the world rankings.

It provided the platform for the passionate Liverpool supporter to make his Seve Trophy debut for Great Britain and Ireland, in Paris, in September, before going on to partner Rhys Davies in the Welsh team for the Mission Hills World Cup, in China two months later.

With life on course blossoming, Donaldson found life couldn’t get any better back home with partner Kat due to give birth to their first child in March.

And what about the big event in Macclesfield affecting things on the fairways?

“I’ve got a great girlfriend who lets me do whatever I need to do to do my job well,” said Donaldson.

“It’s fantastic news we are going to have our first child in March, that’s very important to my home life, and work is also very important.

“Like any professional golfer on the European Tour, I want to be in that Ryder Cup team. I realise to have that chance I’ve got to continue playing as well as I have been, and keep giving myself chances of getting that win on Tour.
